ADELAIDE
ADELAIDE Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, and it is the fifth largest city in Australia. Adelaide is a coastal city. Its name is in honor of Queen Adelaide, the consort of King William IV. The city was founded in 1836. Adelaide was known for its religious freedom. In the actuality, Adelaide is known for its festivals, arts, sports and its delicious wine.
GEOGRAPHY
Adelaide is located north of the Fleurieu Peninsula. It has an area of 870 km². In Adelaide flow many rivers, thanks to these, Adelaide has reservoirs of water.
CLIMATE
Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate. In the months of winter is where there are more rainfalls. The rainfall is light and infrequent in the summer. June is the wettest and the coldest month of the year. There isn’t snow, except at Mount Lofty and some places in the Adelaide Hills.
Adelaide is the oldest municipal authority in Australia. In Adelaide, its metropolitan area is divided in eighteen local government areas and was established in 1840. As Adelaide is South Australia's capital and the most populous city, the State helps to this.
DEMOGRAPHY
Between the 2002-2003 years, the population increased. In the 2006, Adelaide had a population of more of 1,105,839. The most of the population is between the 55 years old or more. So that, Adelaide has the lowest number of children in Australia.
RELIGION

ECONOMY
Adelaide's economy is primarily based around manufacturing. They contain car manufacturing plants for General Motors Holden and Mitsubishi, and plants that produce electronic systems that are sold worldwide for applications in medical, communications, defence, automotive, food and wine processing and industrial sectors.
EDUCATION
The Education in Adelaide is provided by a variety of public and private schools, which are the responsibility of the Government. These schools operate under the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
CULTURE
Now the city is home to events such as the Adelaide Festival of Arts, Fringe Festival, Adelaide Film Festival, Adelaide Festival of Ideas, Adelaide Writers’ Week, and the Feast Festival amongst others.
HEALTH
Adelaide's first hospital was the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), founded in 1840, it is one of the major hospitals in Adelaide and is a teaching hospital of the University of Adelaide.
